FAQS
How many children are in each group? And what is the teacher/child ratio?
We have about 20 children in each group. We have 1 to 5 teacher ratio for the Toddler group ages 2-3 years old, and a 1 to 7 teacher ratio for preschool age groups.
If I enroll in the Parent and Toddler Play group, will my child automatically get into the preschool program?
We recommend the Parent and Toddler Play group as a means of getting to understanding the school philosophy and helping with the transition from home to school. It is not a requirement for admission for the preschool program. You still need to apply for the preschool program.
How are parents involved in the school?
Group collaboration and team work is part of our philosophy. Parents are an integral part of the Happy Birch community. The focus of parent committees is to assist teachers and to collaborate with the school in planning events. Our parent volunteers help with many types of social activities, school events, and fundraising activities in the community.
Why do I need a tour of the school prior to application?
The way we work with children is most effective when parents understand the value of our teaching philosophy. To support building the best community for our school and to insure the highest quality experience for children, we provide tours for parents to learn the way we work, our philosophy, and benefits our environmental design offer to children.
How do I request a tour? What do I need to know about the tour?
We have regular tours scheduled at least once each month. Please contact us by phone or on the website to request a tour. On the tour we will introduce you to our philosophy, and you will see examples of how our classrooms and environment support the learning experience. The initial tour is for parents only. We usually arrange a separate school visit with children after the initial tour has been completed.
